SERVICES

Following are some of the services offered by Dr. Muhammad Mahmood Ahmad

Neck Pain

Neck pain can last from days to years, depending on the cause. Common causes include osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis, herniated disc, pinched nerve, mental and physical stress and strain, poor posture, tumors and other health conditions.

Facet Arthropathy

Facet Arthropathy (FA) is a painful, arthritic condition of the facet joints. These joints allow for bending, twisting, and alignment of the spine. The spinal nerves come off the spinal cord between the vertebra and the facet joints.

Degenerative Scoliasis

Degenerative scoliosis, also known as adult onset scoliosis, describes a side-to-side curvature of the spine caused by degeneration of the facet joints and intervertebral discs which are the moving parts of the spine.

Tumors of Spinal Cord

A spinal tumor is a growth that develops within your spinal canal or within the bones of your spine. A spinal cord tumor, also called an intradural tumor, is a spinal tumor that that begins within the spinal cord or the covering of the spinal cord (dura). A tumor that affects the bones of the spine (vertebrae) is called a vertebral tumor.

Tumors of Spine

Spinal tumors can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Primary tumors originate in the spine or spinal cord, and metastatic or secondary tumors result from cancer spreading from another site to the spine. Spinal tumors are referred to in two ways. By the region of the spine in which they occur.

Infections of Spine Discitis

Discitis is a disease, as the “itis” would indicate, of infection of the discs between the vertebra of the spine. Like appendicitis, discitis is usually a bacterial infection but may be viral.

PERSONALIZED, STATE-OF-THE-ART SPINE CARE

ADULT AND PEDIATRIC SCOLIOSIS

Adult scoliosis patients are no longer growing, so rapid curve progression is not the norm. Curves are expected to increase approximately zero to one degree per year. For this reason, evaluation of adult patients is driven more by determining where and why patients are feeling pain

CERVICAL DISC REPLACEMENT

Disk replacement surgery may have the advantage of allowing more movement and creating less stress on your remaining vertebrae than traditional cervical disk surgery.

ANTERIOR CERVICAL FUSION

Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) is a surgery to remove a herniated or degenerative disc in the neck. An incision is made in the throat area to reach and remove the disc. A graft is inserted to fuse together the bones above and below the disc.
